Description
The resin used to make this incense is of the highest quality “Al-Hojari” Boswellia Sacra, which is native to southern Oman and its border with eastern Yemen. Frankincense has an intense balsamic fragrance, due to its high percentage of essential oils.
The ancient Egyptians used the resin in religious rites, to mummify the bodies of their pharaohs, and to treat wounds and ulcers. The incense was found in Tutankhamun’s tomb. It is still used in the religious ceremonies of the Parsees, and by some cultural descendants of the Three Wise Men from the Christian tradition.
